On Wednesday, January 25, 2023, our beloved father and grandfather passed away at the age of 65 years, after a quick battle with cancer, with his three daughters by his side.
John “Jack” MacDonald was born August 15, 1957 in Killarney, MB to Angus and Joan. As a boy he loved being outdoors, horseback riding, hunting, and playing baseball and later football.
As a young man, John worked at various manual labour jobs before settling on a 32-year career with Koch Fertilizer, formerly Simplot. John retired at the age of 55 years as a Production Shift Supervisor.
Later in life, John enjoyed watching sports and movies, reading history and true crime books, hunting and gunsmithing. But most of all, John adored his children and grandchildren and spent most of his free time with them.
John is survived by his three daughters Jennifer (Grant), Sarah (Doug), and Jessica (Kyle); six grandchildren Adele, Harper, Kane, Angus, Vayda, and Cormick; his mother Joan; sister Gail; niece Karla; nephew Tyler; and a host of Aunts and Cousins. He was predeceased by his father Angus.
The Celebration of John’s Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330 – 18th Street North, Brandon on Friday, February 10 at 11:30 a.m.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of John may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 185 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com.
