JEAN ROSS

As our dear mom Jean wanted you to know, "If you are reading this, please note I have changed my address." Surrounded by love, Jean passed peacefully on January 25, 2023.
Jean was born to Joseph and Mary Osiowy on December 30, 1935, and was raised on the family farm in Hazelridge. Her siblings, Louis, Adeline and Mike predeceased her.
We would like to think she is dancing with her husband Tom in heaven.
Family meant everything to Jean. She leaves her three angels, Marj (Bruce), Penny (Gilbert), and Treasure (Garry), who were her activity directors, fashion advisors, and her greatest joy. Also missing her are her grandchildren, Brock (Jo), Season (Ron), Brooke, Benj (Rae Dawn), Jillian (Sean), Jordan, Brandon, and Ethan, who were a huge part of her life. She is loved by seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Jean will be missed by many dear friends, including Bill, Jerry, the Finance Filly's, the Penguin Pals, and the Curl Friends.
Jean began her career at Eatons record department, and then spent 30 years with the Provincial Government, Department of Finance. Her real passion though was sports. She curled, skated, skied, golfed, played first base, cheered on the Jets and the Blue Bombers, and was known to be very upset if she, or any of her teams lost. She was very happy to win!
Jean dedicated many hours to volunteer organizations, Big Sisters, blood donor, library delivery, sports competitions, airport ambassadors, and knitted items for those in need. She was a world traveller, and was happiest when travelling with her family.
Our heartfelt thanks to the Sturgeon Creek 2 family and staff who made her last years just as she wanted; active, fun, entertaining, and friendly.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
Celebration of Life will be held February 23, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., at the Breezy Bend Country Club, 7620 Roblin Blvd.
To remember Jean, raise a glass of white wine, and remember to live life to the fullest.

Jean belonged to our golf league for a number of years and was a wonderful lady to golf with. She was funny and always had words of wisdom when it came to the game of golf and/or life in general. • Sincere condolences to Marj, Penny, Treasure (the angels) on the loss of their mom; an extremely difficult time in your lives. And to all my cousins on the loss of their Grandma and Great Grandma. Auntie Jean was such a special part of my life and was such a strong, independent woman, even before this was cool, and I looked up to her as a role model always. I remember when I was young always being so excited when she would come out to the farm on Sunday’s! Inevitably she would be asked by my dad “when was the last time you changed the oil in your car?” Her answer, well Howard when was the last time you changed it? So many memories, lots of laughs and many talks (never lectures) and knowing no question was off limits. Such a beautiful person to me both outside but especially beautiful inside. I will share a round of golf with you this summer Auntie Jean 💕 Love Glenda, Robin & Colton - Posted by: Glenda (Niece) on: Feb 11, 2023

  • Jean had a huge circle of friends, and I was glad to be in it. - Posted by: Linda Morrison (New Furey) (Friend) on: Feb 11, 2023
