Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Gil. I have some many fond memories of spending time with both Gil and Barb in Manitoba and at the many sales meetings we attended together. I loved the time he took to show me his cottage and the hospitality he extended to me. He was a gentleman and a dedicated employee and father. My heart goes out to Barb and the family. He will be missed - Posted by: Cheryl Smith (Works at Stanfield's) on: Mar 13, 2023

  • Barb - my sincere condolences to you and your family! Jean Lessard let me know of Gil's passing, and it brought back a lot of fond memories of our McGregor meetings back in the day. Gil taught me a lot in our time together and I always enjoyed spending time with both of you on my visits to Winnipeg. I'll never forget that sly smile of his! I'm very sorry for your loss! - Posted by: Rob Stanley (Colleague) on: Mar 09, 2023

  • Barb and family so sorry to hear of Gil's passing. I enjoyed all my years of dealing with you and Gil, during my years with Narveys and my store. He was such a nice man. Take care Barb. - Posted by: Faye Dubetz (Friend) on: Feb 28, 2023

  • We both met Gil in the early 90's as the Stanfield's McGregor sales rep. He was by far the most professional in his field. Our business relationships grew to a wonderful friendship that lasted decades. We enjoyed sharing stories with Gil and Barb as both parents with 2 daughters. Will always remember his dry sense of humour and that great giggle. Condolences to Barb and the girls and their families. - Posted by: Gary and Wendy Hamilton (Friends) on: Feb 26, 2023

  • He will be missed! So many memories of amazing meals, funny pranks, late night hot tubs and sailing up the river. Solid, fantastic person. I am thinking of you all! Love Lonnie xoxoxo - Posted by: Lonnie Prouse (Niece) on: Feb 16, 2023

  • Devestated that he won't be out this spring I was so hopeful. Can't begin to express my sorrow to you and Kyla in particular. He was an amazing man, neighbour and most of all to me a friend. The only one from our family that will miss him more is Stitch whose weekend only started when Gil arrived. Take care, big hugs. John, Darlene, Jeff, Michael, Stitch and Sid. - Posted by: John Dojack (Neighbour and friend) on: Feb 12, 2023
