SHARON THIESSEN-WOODS
We are remembering the rich life of our mother. Born on July 1, 1951, Sharon grew up in Transcona with her parents, John Thiessen and Roseanne Thiessen (Friesen), who operated the Shell gas and service station on Regent Avenue.
She is survived by her sister Barb Thiessen; sons, Paul and Eric Reder; stepsons, Colin and Darren Woods (Sara); grandchildren, Ally, Josh, Emily and North and great-grandchild Chelsea.
Sharon married her forever love, Tony Woods, in Winnipeg in 1990, with whom she lived until his passing in 2020. Prior to that she raised her sons, Paul and Eric Reder in Anola with her previous husband Don Reder.
Sharon earned her CGA designation and worked for many non-profit arts organizations over the years, including the Winnipeg Symphony and the Winnipeg Film Group. Her love for curling saw her attending events across the country to help organize scorekeeping and statistics, and she was a board member for the Curl Manitoba Hall of Fame.
As a breast cancer survivor, Sharon became involved with the Chemo Savvy dragon boat team. Their support was incredibly important to her in the last few years.
A celebration of Sharon's life will be announced soon. In the meantime, Sharon's family kindly requests that her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by visiting her tribute page at EthicalDeathCare.com. A photo-biography, as well as memories and stories published by those who knew her are available there.

So sorry to hear about Sharon’s passing. Sharon and I served together on the Curl Manitoba board where I got to witness her passion for curling and we bumped into each other at various championships in our various roles, with Sharon generally serving as official in a leadership capacity. Thanks Sharon for making a difference - Posted by: Al Friesen (Friend) on: Feb 19, 2023

Sharon was a friend I met through the Business and Professional Women's Club of Winnipeg back in the early 90's, and we formed a friendship that spanned over all those years, both in our business, personal and professional lives. She was so fiercely proud of her family and would talk often about her boys, her special North, and her stepchildren. I will miss you, my friend. - Posted by: Bonnie Siemens (Friend) on: Feb 11, 2023
