GREGORY SIGURDSON
Gregory John Sigurdson passed away on February 2, 2023, in Brandon, Manitoba.
Greg attended school in Brandon, graduating from Brandon University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science (Specialist) Degree. He had various jobs until 1985 when he joined the Manitoba Civil Service as Training Analyst for various employment programs and then, as a Counsellor for the Employment and Income Assistance program. Greg retired in 2013 after 28 years with the province.
Greg was involved with a number of non-profit agencies including working as a volunteer at the Commonwealth Air Training Museum in Brandon. He started as a part-time volunteer in 1994 and after retiring, devoted substantial time as editor of the Museum's newsletter CONTACT and as Archivist managing the Museum's collection of artifacts and archival items. Greg enjoyed interacting with other dedicated members of the Museum. He was grateful for the lasting friendship of many friends and acquaintances during his life.
Greg was predeceased by his parents Beth and Paul Sigurdson and his sister Sharon Sutherland of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Survived by his brother Ken (Sharlene) Sigurdson of Burlington, Ontario; nieces Victoria Sigurdson of Toronto, Ontario and, Lindsay (Clayton, Emma, Olive) Buchanan of Springbrook, Alberta; brother-in-law Greg Sutherland of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
In keeping with Greg's wishes there will be no formal service, a private family service will be held at a later date.
Greg will be interred in the family plot at Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Brandon, Manitoba.
