ERIC FIKS
With heavy hearts and so much love, we announce the peaceful passing of Eric Fiks, surrounded by his three favourite people.
Eric is survived by his children, Alana (Angela) and Morgan, his sister Sheilla Leinburd, niece Lauren (Jeremy) and nephew Cole (Kira) as well as many friends and chosen family. Eric was predeceased by his parents, John and Margarita, and his favourite furry companion, Ms. Coco Chanel.
Eric loved four things most. His family, his lifelong friends, music and making us all laugh. Reminiscing about his youth was Eric's specialty, and he had many nicknames (Erico Fantastico or Big F being his preference) numerous inside jokes, and even his own language (including unique terms like Ahoo, Habooshee and Daru) that he carried on since high school. Eric was kind, and generous, caring and thoughtful. He was sweet, had the most incredible memory, was uniquely funny and everyone that knew him has a great story to tell about him.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Bnay Abraham Cemetery (4639 Main St.) with a late luncheon to follow at Etz Chayim Synagogue (123 Matheson Ave. E.)
Should friends wish to remember Eric, donations can be made to a charity of meaning to you, but what he would really want you to do is go "somewhere like Sorrento's" to have a good meal and a drink with loved ones.
The family wishes to thank the staff on the 5th floor at the I.H. Asper Institute, especially his ICCS nurses and Dr. Eric Jacobsohn for their care and professionalism.
Our dearest Eric, thank you for being in our lives. You will be missed by so many,
we will remember you always with
laughter and love.

The day I met Eric he was yelling at me. 2 hours later he left as my friend. After standing my ground, he said you’re a fair man. As the years moved on I would learn how caring and special he was.
