JOAN ELIZABETH FERGUSON
June 18, 1946 - February 2, 2023

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Joan Elizabeth Ferguson (nee Burwash) announces her peaceful passing at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.
Joan was a graceful lady, caring mother and Grandma. She was very social, loved to entertain and enjoyed playing bridge. Joan loved the outdoors, whether it was in her garden or camping somewhere in the mountains. She was a loyal friend who was always willing to lend a hand or a listening ear. Joan will be remembered for her warm smile, chatty nature and cheerful laugh.
Joan was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her son Jeffrey Alan Ferguson. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Neville, daughter Christine (Rob) Hanson; granddaughters, Tori and Sarah Hanson, and her brother Donald Burwash (Calgary).
In keeping with Joan's wishes a cremation has taken place. The family will be holding a Celebration of Life sometime in the next few months.
The family wishes to extend their appreciation for the care that Joan received from the staff of St. Joseph's Auxiliary Hospital over the past year. We also thank the University of Alberta Hospital for their care and dignity of Joan in her last days.
As an expression of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Auxiliary Hospital, or the Alzheimer Society of Alberta.
