BARBARA MAGEE TURNER

It is with heartfelt sadness that we have to announce Barb's passing on February 2, 2023, at St. Joseph's Health Centre in Guelph, ON at the age of 66.
Beloved wife of Richard Turner.
Loving mother of Courtney Elizabeth Magee Turner and Andrew Glenn Magee Turner and Lily Belle (the cat).
Will also be greatly missed by sister Janice Jocelyn and Susan Madzik, both of Winnipeg.
Born in Winnipeg, MB, to the late Donald and Wynell Magee, Barb completed a Masters Degree at the University of Manitoba in Landscape Architecture. She proceeded to enjoy over 35 years of success and gratification in her profession.
Barb's strong passion for family, friends and her profession touched many people with lasting memories.
Barb enjoyed adventures and travel. Dearest to her soul was the time spent on Sannibel Island each year. She also loved the times at the lake in the summer.
Barb was always a prolific reader of mystery books and visits to the local library. During her brief retirement, she found great satisfaction in nurturing the garden at home.

We love you Mom.

We would like to thank the professionals at St. Joseph's Health Centre (Guelph) for their dedication of care.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Barbara's life will be held on Thursday, February 23 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, ON 519-749-8467.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Joseph's Health Centre (Guelph) would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Hey, Barb! The bright spark of your intellect and the irrepressible good spirits you brought to the dusty cubicles at Manitoba Parks are appreciated and cherished to this day – thanks for the memories! - Posted by: Rick Wilson (co-worker) on: Feb 19, 2023

  • To all the Magee and Turner Families: I am so sorry to learn of Barb's passing. She was a wonderful friend and we had some fun times at our Whytewold cottages over the years. Although I lost contact with Barb over the years I would occasionally hear through the grapevine (our mothers who periodically saw each other in Winnipeg and I would see her dad as a patient) how she was doing at school and later with her family. My deepest condolences to you all. Yours, Sidney Macaw - Posted by: Sidney Macaw (Friend from Whytewold summers.) on: Feb 18, 2023
