WALLACE E. STAUB
March 28, 1932 – February 8, 2023

Sadly, Wally passed away suddenly in his home at the age of 90.
He leaves behind his children, Andrew, Karen Guest (Bud), Cheryl Schmidt (Norm), granddaughter Piper Thomson and brothers, Raymond and Billy.
Wally was predeceased by his parents, William and Louise, sister Irene Collins, brother Alvin and granddaughter Calais.
Wally was born and raised in Winnipeg. An avid sport enthusiast and athlete he enjoyed all sports and actively participated in many including soccer, bowling, hockey, and baseball, winning many awards and accolades.
In his school years Wally worked as a shoeshine boy and paperboy. After high school he followed in his father's footsteps and became a machinist at CNR retiring in 1988 after 37 years.
Wally liked to make sly jokes and do crosswords, watch Judge Judy and hockey/baseball and he enjoyed holiday dinners with family. He loved golf at Pine Ridge Golf Club in summer and playing on an old timer hockey league in winter. He was happy to get his only hole-in-one in 2004 at the age of 72. He continued to regularly play sports into his early 80s, when he said "Time to hang it up, I'm not 60 anymore!"
Wally enjoyed good health, had a quick wit and a cheerful outlook. He was proud of his independence and lived his life on his own terms.
As per Wally's wishes cremation has taken place with a private interment to follow.
