It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Irene Saltner (Koterla) on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at the age of 92.
Irene was a very proud woman, devoted to her family and always helping family, friends and neighbours. She loved being in the kitchen cooking up a storm, whether it was pancakes for the grandchildren or perogies for the family. She loved listening to Polka music and dancing the night away. She enjoyed long drives with her husband and spending quality time with the ones she loved.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband Gordan; sister Evelyn; daughter Michelle; grandchildren, Alan, Kevin (Chloe), Corissa (Jordan) and Tyler (Laura); son-in-law Dennis and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her daughters, Rhonda and Kelly; parents, George and Mary; three siblings, Henry, Noreen and Ernie; and brothers-in-law, Bill and Frank.

Condolences & Memories (6 entries)
I don’t believe I ever met her in person or I was very young and don’t remember. But when my grandma Kelly was still here she always delivered me a card on my birthday and on Christmas from my great grandparents. Irene and Gordan. I used to look forward to those letters and that they were thinking about me. I wanted to reach out but I waited to long. I sadly just learned about her passing.. - Posted by: Ashley Connelly (Great-granddaughter) on: Oct 01, 2023

My heartfelt sympathies to you Michelle and your whole family. Mrs. Saltner was like a second mom to me. Mr. and Mrs. Saltner always made me feel welcome and included me in many family outings. She will be missed. Roberta - Posted by: Roberta Haaksma (Friend) on: Mar 05, 2023
So sorry to hear of Mrs. Saltner’s passing. She was a neighbor of ours for so many years while I grew up in Manitoba. And yes, she was a great cook I believe teaching my mother how to make perogies and cabbage roles. Our condolences to Michelle, Mr. Saltner and the families.
