MAUREEN FREEMAN

She was born January, 27 1948 in Russell Manitoba, first child to Reg and Freda Goddard. They lived in Foxwarren for a couple of years until moving to the big city of Winnipeg.
They lived in the Elmwood area where mom graduated from Elmwood High in 1966. She then trained and graduated as an LPN Nurse a year later. She was employed at the Winnipeg Children’s hospital. Somewhere in amidst this she met, in Dad’s words “an all-around great guy and the love of her life”, George. This would start mom on a life of adventure. They were married on October 27, 1968, and moved to Killarney. Maureen had a few different jobs until she caught on at the hospital in Killarney.
The Freeman’s became parents on February 15, 1971. George Scott Freeman arrived on the earth. Bonnie Lynn arrived in June 29, 1974. Soon after the Freeman family moved to Hartney where dad worked out of Souris for Hydro and mom worked at the local Hartney Hospital.
Maureen gave a lot of her time to others. Whether it be driving Scott and Bonnie around to games and practices or serving on many community positions that included, Girl Guides, Royal Purple, Legion and the Hart-Cam Museum among others.
Maureen gained a daughter-in-law JoAnn Arstein in June of 1994 and a son-in-law Dale Senkbeil in October of 1997.
Maureen became a grandma on October 11, 1994 when Jaya Freeman was born, four others followed: Jonah Freeman, Kiera Senkbeil, Siri Freeman and Coby Senkbeil.
After Maureen and George retired, they started to venture down south and did so for ten years. They went on other trips through the years that included California, Cuba and Alaska. Their favourite summertime place was at Lake of the Prairies, where another strong friendship group was formed.
