WALTER VICTOR WASNEY
Wally passed away at 90 years of age at Riverview Palliative care. He grew up in Winnipeg in the family home on Horace Street in St. Boniface.
Wally was a loving and caring husband. He took great care of Evelyn when her health issues started in late 2018. Eventually Evelyn needed a care home and Wally visited every day until his health started to decline in 2023. He was a great stepdad to Lynda, Howard, Cliff and grandpa to Dallas, Holly, Jonathon and Jenelle.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn, Lynda, Howard, Cliff, and grandkids.
Predeceased by his dad Mike, mother Rose and sister Adeline.
Cremation has taken place. As per Wally's request a service will be held at a later date.

I met Evelyn and Wally while working at the hotel front desk at Shooting Star Casino. I got to know them well as I helped them with their room every visit. I so enjoyed their stories of life, and as their health declined, wrote letters to Evelyn. They both meant so very much to me, and were not just guests, but were kindred spirits and part of my work "family." I’m so sad to hear of Wally’s passing. He was an incredible neighbour to myself and a friend to my daughters. When my daughters first started started coming home after school alone and struggled with using their keys, Wally was always there to help them open the door. Him and Evelyn welcomed them into their home often. My youngest daughter enjoyed puzzling with them and listening to stories of their travels. She would often ask me to bake butter tarts for Wally so she had an excuse to visit Evelyn and him. My deepest sympathies to Evelyn and family. Wally and Evelyn were our neighbours on arby bay for many years. i enjoyed bringing my moms fresh baking over (specifically wally's favourite butter tarts), christmas/birthday cards and having visits with the both of them hearing their stories of their life.
