Our Queen Esther passed away peacefully on March 6, 2023, on the holiday of Purim at the age of 83.
Survived by her husband Moishe (Sidney); children, Adeena, Ahava and Frank, Hartley, Jonathan (Jono) and Marni; grandchildren, Danny, Anna, Leo, Sophie and Lily; in-laws, Esther and Marvin, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Jerry and Rose Nepon, Bertha and Chaim Halpern, brother Butch, brothers and sisters-in-law, Izzy and Fran, Dave and Tibe, and in-laws, Sylvia and Joe.
Esther was born in Winnipeg, and was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother and Babie to her entire beloved family. Married to Moishe for almost 65 years, their partnership served as an example of love and devotion to all who knew them.
Funeral services were held March 8, 2023 at the Chesed Shel Emes Chapel with interment at Rosh Pina Memorial Park officiated by Rabbi Yosef Benarroch. Pallbearers were Leo Halpern, David Freedman, Marvin Samphir, Stuart Slayen, David Solomon, and Warren Zimmerman. Honorary pallbearers were Danny Gratzer, Anna Gratzer, Sophie Halpern, Lily Halpern, Frank Lavitt, Rabbi Avrohom Altein, Daniel Samphir, Joel Samphir, Gordon Shaffer, and Bernie Simkin.
Charitable donations in Esther's memory made to Jewish Child and Family Service, or to a charity of one's choice would be greatly appreciated.
May her soul be bound up in the bond
of eternal life.
