KEITH DAVID IRVINE
When Keith Irvine passed away the world lost a true gentleman with a sterling character.
His passing has left a void for his wife Cheryl, sons Cam and Chad (Christina), stepdaughters Leanne and Carly, brothers Mark (Verle-Ann) and Kevin, grandchildren Everly and Jovie, nieces, nephews, and his beloved dog Molly. He was predeceased by his wife Beverly and his parents Audry and David Irvine.
Keith was born in Moose Jaw, SK. The family moved in 1967 to Winnipeg where Keith grew up in Westwood. In his teenage years he worked at A&W and K-mart where he met Bev. Keith graduated from Westwood Collegiate and in 1977 he started his lifelong career with Manitoba Hydro. He married Bev during this time and they lived in Gillam, MB, where he worked as a Power Station Operator. In 1984 they returned to Winnipeg as Keith had advanced in his career and it was an ideal location to raise their two sons. He enjoyed his travels to Hawaii, planning family camping trips, sharing the art of fishing with his boys and coaching baseball teams. Keith met Cheryl in 2007 and shortly after they purchased a home on acreage where they lived for five years before building a home in Gimli. Keith loved to snowmobile and ride his motorcycle. He enjoyed shopping trips to the USA and was involved in curling, ice fishing, bowling, boating, target shooting, and camping. Keith retired in 2012 as a Senior Power System Officer. He particularly loved going to the “Old Guys Breakfasts". Keith married in September 2012 and would soon after leave to work in Riyadh, SA. Over the next couple of years the two would travel throughout the middle east and bring back many cherished memories made with dear friends. Keith’s true passion was Radio Controlled Aircraft and after the Gimli home was built, the local flying field become his second home. He was the happiest when he was planning or attending a flying event, or just sitting by the bonfire with other RCA enthusiasts. Keith loved when his family came to visit and the grandchildren always put a big smile on his face.
A Celebration of Keith’s Life will occur in Winnipeg, on Wednesday April 5, 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Red River Community Centre, 293 Murray Avenue. If you would like to share any stories, laughs and memories during this open house you may do so at 1:00 p.m.

Had the pleasure to work with Keith over the years. Keith was always game for activities like the golf tournaments and Star Lake getaways. Recently enjoyed Keith’s company at the morning old guy breakfasts or getting caught up on the SCC gang. Over the years he helped many of the SCC gang weather it was sandbagging, building a garage, or regripping golf clubs. - Posted by: Darrell Coxkerill (Friend) on: Apr 06, 2023

This is sad news! Keith was my first supervisor when I entered in to System Control Centre with Manitoba Hydro. He was a great mentor and friend. We worked many years together on shift and consider myself fortunate to have had Keith in my life. Keith was always a gentleman, cared about people and would help anyone. We shared a good visit with Keith not long ago at "The Old Guys Breakfast". At times like this, I appreciate how important these breakfasts really are. My sincere condolences go out to Keith's entire family. - Posted by: Scott Brooks (Friend) on: Apr 02, 2023

Wow, where to start. From elementary school at Robert Browning through to graduation at Westwood Collegiate; Gillam Manitoba, working for Manitoba Hydro; raising our young children together, both in Gillam and in Winnipeg; curling in Mahnoman with Manitoba Hydro; and many, many, hours spent together visiting, coffees, and just having fun together as young families with our kiddos. Keith was always a good natured guy with a smile and a joke to share. His kindness was always shared with all! You will be missed Keith. Our sincere condolences to Cam, Chad, and Cheryl and the girls. - Posted by: Ken and Faye Lawson (Friends) on: Apr 01, 2023
