ANTHONY (TONY) BEZDEK
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Tony Bezdek on March 25, 2023 at the age of 67.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Ferne of 43 years, daughters, Corissa (Brendan), Carleen (Jon), son Nathan, granddaughters, Novalyn and Ella, father-in-law Ted Higgins, three brothers, as well as extended family members and we cannot forget his furbabies, Ming Chow and Jojo. Predeceased by his mother Marie, father Zdenek and mother-in-law Joyce Higgins.
Tony was a family man through and through. Spending time with his two granddaughters brought him immense pride and joy. He was a dedicated dog dad and loved his chow chows very much. He enjoyed summers at the family cottage on Brereton Lake; when he did take a moment to relax you would find him on the deck at the waters edge with a beer, cigar and his dogs or taking the boat out for a ride. Many hours were spent in his garage restoring his 1958 Chevy pickup and repairing small engines. He had a lengthy career working at CN for 35 years and was able to take an early retirement in 2011.
The family would like to thank the staff at Health Sciences Centre, unit GB3 and the Medical Intensive Care Unit for their care and compassion.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., West St Paul.
A private interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.

My sincere condolences to the Bezdek family who were our good friends living on Stella Avenue back in the 1960s and early 1970s. I remember our time as teenagers having our “Olympics” with various events on Stella Avenue and Dufferin Avenue including the fastest bike ride around the block, time spent at Centennial Park at the swimming pool and park, racing down the Arlington Street bridge trying to catch the green light at Dufferin Avenue and building our rafts from scrap lumber from his dad and rafting in the “swamps” near the McPhillips and Jarvis. - Posted by: Victor Moge (Family Friend ) on: Apr 02, 2023
