Offer Condolences or Memory BEVERLEY MAE ELIAS
(nee GUARINO)
It is with broken hearts we announce that suddenly and unexpectedly on March 29, 2023, Beverley passed away at her home at the age of 81.
Beverley is survived by her son, Dwayne Elias; daughter, Deanne Zilinsky (Tim); brother, Barry Guarino (Arlene); brother, Charles Guarino, granddaughter, Danielle Elias and nephews, Guy and Jay Guarino. Beverley was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Elias, mother and father, Edna and Charlie Guarino and mother in-law and father-in-law, Julia and Alex Elias. Mom is also survived by many cousins who she loved very much. Mom's family and friends meant the world to her and she will be forever missed.
Beverley was born on May 30, 1941 and lived in Winnipeg her whole life. Mom worked at Woolco at Unicity for a number of years, until she moved on to working at Quantas Flooring where she worked for 25+ years and just stopped working a few short months ago.
Mom loved sports and for many years, she five pin bowled while her two children were very young. Mom absolutely loved the Winnipeg Jets and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and rarely ever missed watching a game on TV. She watched all hockey and football. Mom also loved curling, either watching it on TV, or coming to Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club every Friday night to watch Deanne and Tim curl.
The family would like to thank Susan at mom's apartment block for always looking out for mom and to the emergency personnel that attended to mom.
Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 510 River Avenue with Reverend Father Sam Argenziano presiding. Viewing and condolences will take place at 10:00 a.m., followed by eulogy and mass at 11:00 a.m. Following the eulogy and mass, burial and reception will take place at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.

I will miss the hilarious phone calls I had with Deanne & her mom. “MaMa” (that’s what I called her) had a great sense of humour and was such a positive person. “MaMa” was a great mom to Deanne and Dwayne and her granddaughter Danielle. She was proud so proud of you all. She left many broken hearts, but she also left so many great memories. Thank you “Mama” for always making me laugh. I have known Miss Bev for almost 40 years. She was our Secretary (Administrative Assistant) For over 35 years. My Father (Wolfgang) and Bev had a special relationship they loved to bitch at each other and give each other a hard time but it was always in good fun. All of us at Quantas Flooring are completely heartbroken by the passing of our beloved Bev. Always reliable, dependable and never tardy. Bev and I talked about anything and everything for over 30 years there was nothing we didn’t talk about. Bev loved Winnipeg Sports Teams. We would discuss the next upcoming game and what the outcome may be. It’s a shame that she will not be here to see the Jets win the Stanley Cup this year ( maybe not in body but she surely will be here in Spirit) The Winnipeg Blue Bombers Grey Cup Wins were a huge deal for her she loved Football. 29 years a long to wait for the Cup but worth the wait She said. Bev’s kids and granddaughter were a key part of her life. She loved them all very much even though her son Dwayne and granddaughter lived in the States they talked to each other all the time always a bright spot of her day. she couldn’t wait till they came to visit normally in the summer and during Christmas holidays. Bev, Deanne and Tim spent a lot of time together shopping, dinner the horse track (VLTs ) She loved spending time with her family because that’s what meant the most to her. I will miss her every day. I will see her picture every day in the office to be reminded of the special woman who came into our lives and who will never be forgotten.
