ROLAND ARTHUR CARTER


Roland Arthur Carter passed away peacefully with family by his side on Saturday, April 1, 2023 on his 83rd birthday.

Roland was born in Souris, MB and was raised in and around southwestern Manitoba. He joined the military in 1958 and was stationed in Wainwright, AB. It was during a posting in Edmonton, AB that he met the love of his life, Joyce. They were married for 54 years before her death in 2018. During that time, they lived in Edmonton, Germany, Shilo and Brandon and raised three daughters. After retirement, Roland and Joyce spent many years golfing, travelling and playing cards with friends and family.

Roland was predeceased by his wife, Joyce; grandson Ryan; and siblings Gordon, Lillian and May. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Verna Mitchell (Robert), Vera Comerford (Myles) and Sheila; grandchildren Benjamin, Travis and Madison (Jared); great-grandchildren Aria and Mason; and many extended family and friends.

The Celebration of Roland’s Life will take place at Memories Chapel, 330 – 18th Street North, on Saturday, April 8, 2023 (TODAY) at 12:00 p.m. Rev. Doug Craig will officiate. A reception will follow at Memories Chapel. Roland will be laid to rest at Rosewood Memorial Gardens alongside his wife.

Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Roland may be made to a charity of choice.

Peacefully, surrounded by family, on Saturday, April 1, 2023, Roland Carter, beloved husband of the late Joyce Carter passed away on his 83rd birthday, at the Brandon Regional Health Centre.

The Celebration of Roland’s Life will take place at Memories Chapel, 330 18th Street North, on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Doug Craig officiating. A reception will follow at Memories Chapel. Roland will be laid to rest with his wife at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Roland may be made to a charity of choice
