It is with profound sadness we announce that Sharon Lynn Phillips, wife of the late Stanley Phillips and mother of Marlee (Warren) and Kristen (Ian) passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the age of 78 years.
Sharon was born on December 8, 1944 in Brandon, Manitoba to Keston and Ruth Taylor. Sharon was raised in Brandon and attended her elementary years at McLaren and Park School. She spent her middle years at Earl Oxford, finishing her education at Brandon Collegiate Institute. After high school, Sharon worked at the Bank of Montreal on Rosser Ave. in Brandon, it was during this time that she met Stan. They married in 1966 and moved to Winnipeg where Marlee and Kristen were born. In 1977, Stan and Sharon moved back to Brandon and opened Stan’s IGA. After 37 years in the retail business they decided to retire and spent their summers at the cottage at Ditch Lake and winters in Mesa, AZ.
Sharon was predeceased by her husband Stan Phillips, parents Keston and Ruth Taylor, brother Brian Taylor, sister in law Sharon Taylor, and son in law Ian Irwin. Sharon is survived by her daughters Marlee (Warren) Murray and Kristen Irwin; grandchildren Connor, Lauren, Halle, Deklan; sisters Sandra (Don), Barb (Neil), Bev (Bruce), Evelyn (Dean); brothers Dan (Shelley), Bob (Sharon) and many nieces and nephews.
A private funeral service was held on March 10, 2023.
