CATHERINE ANNE VAN NEST
With broken hearts on March 27, 2023 we said goodbye to our dear wife, mom, daughter, sister and friend, Catherine Anne Van Nest (McCormack).
Left to cherish Cathy’s memory are her beloved husband John of 37 years; son Benjamin (Brittani Lawson) and daughter Hollice (Adam Warelis); mother Florence McCormack; and siblings, Donna, Dianne, Cindy, Kevin and Debbie. Cathy was predeceased by her father Vernon.
Cathy was born on November 27, 1964 in Winnipeg. She graduated from Miles MacDonnell Collegiate and later Red River College. She retired after a dedicated 33 year career in health care finance and administration.
Cathy enjoyed gardening, painting, crafting and collecting, but most of all she loved time with her family and her pugs, Daisy and Jade.
Cathy generously gave her time, money and heart to multiple charities and community organizations such as Siloam Mission, Children Believe and Manitoba Pug Rescue.
The family would like to thank the staff of the SICU at HSC for their compassionate care and understanding.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 12, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Rossmere Golf & Country Club, 925 Watt Street, Winnipeg.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, Shared Health MB Mental Health Programs, or a charity of your choice.

It is with the greatest shock that we learned of Cathy's passing. Cathy was a great wife to John and a fabulous mother to Ben and Holly. She was a wonderful mother who took a great interest in her children's education and the friends they made. Cathy and John were parents that wanted an excellent future for their son and daughter.
