RICHARD SYNENKO
It's with sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard after a brave battle with cancer. Richard was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1952. He worked as a microbiologist in a provincial lab in Manitoba and graduated with a BSc in 1973.
He was then accepted to law school at the University of Manitoba and graduated in 1977. In 1978 Richard moved to Calgary, Alberta and worked for Alberta Justice as a lawyer for over 35 years before his retirement in 2014. In retirement he enjoyed keeping up with current events, taking care of his pet ferrets, visiting Gabriola Island and driving his vintage BMW.
Richard leaves behind his wife Carol, daughters Cynthia (James) and Andrea (Tore), granddaughter Olivia and twin grandsons Soren and Apollo. He also leaves behind his older brother, N. Michael Ross (Revi). Richard was predeceased by his parents, Nick and Helen. The family would like to thank the staff at the Tom Baker Centre, Palliative Home Care and Agape Hospice.
No service is to be held, just a private Celebration of Life. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed at www.MHFH.com. Donations in Richard's name may be made to the Agape Hospice or Red Cross.

Condolences to Richard's family. In the early 2000's I worked as defence counsel on files where Richard was Crown out at Siksika Nation, a very busy court point. Richard was always measured, fair and wanting to help in some way especially with indigenous clients. He was a true gentleman as well. We need more lawyers and people like him. May his family find peace in the time to come. - Posted by: Darrin Blain (Colleague) on: Apr 18, 2023
