Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Heartfelt condolences at the passing of my Dr. Barnes. His wisdom, compassion and jokes were second to none and will be missed. - Posted by: Doris Harding (Patient) on: Apr 28, 2023

  • My Mom, sister and I were patients of Dr Barnes for many years. He was always wonderful to us. Always kind, with his type of humour thrown in there. We certainly missed him when he retired. He was one of a kind for sure! My heartfelt condolences to the family. Wishing you much strength to deal with your loss. - Posted by: Karolyn Harding (Previous Patient) on: Apr 28, 2023

  • Dear Enid and Ian, you may not remember me, but I certainly remember what close friends our parents were when we were children! I recall how they used to love to go out dining and dancing on Saturday evenings and the many times we enjoyed ourselves at each others' houses. When I was in Junior High school, your father also took a friend of mine and me on a behind the scenes tour of the hospital when we were preparing a science project on a medical topic. He answered all the questions that popped into our adolescent minds thoughtfully and directly. Believe me, the tour he planned for us was an unforgettable experience! I am sorry to learn of your dad's passing, and send you my deepest condolences and wishes for strength at this difficult time. - Posted by: Robbie Schwartzwald (Family friend) on: Apr 24, 2023

  • Dear Enid & Ian & families: Very sorry to hear about Uncle Phil. Many good memories of him from Chicago when I was 5. He & Merle were on their honeymoon I think. Uncle Phil taught me to ride a bike. Also fond memories from Brock Street & our cottage. Sorry we have all lost touch. Love Rae - Posted by: Rae & Harvin Pitch (Neice) on: Apr 23, 2023

  • I was sorry to hear of Dr. Barnes passing. I was a patient of his in the 1970s, but even more than that we were almost family. His Aunt Anne was married to my Uncle Morris. Dr. Barnes was a very compassionate physician and went above and beyond. I thought of him often and always when I would drive by his River Heights home. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Cathy Belanger (Patient) on: Apr 23, 2023
