We would like to announce the passing of our mom, Nadia Marion Scott (nee Bobiak). She was born on August 18, 1931 and passed away at the Assiniboine Centre in Brandon, MB on April 12, 2023 at the age of 91. Born in the family home in Brandon, to Ukrainian immigrants, she was one of 12 children. While working at Eatons, she met the love of her life, Murray Scott. They married in 1953, lived in Winnipeg and Calgary, finally returning to Brandon where they raised three daughters. Nadia started working at Richardson Securities in 1966, as a secretary and then became front office manager. In 1980, while working there, she decided to become a stockbroker. She took her securities training, and continued working until retirement in 1988. After retirement, she and Murray travelled Canada and United States enjoying the sites, airshows and visiting family. Nadia had a lifelong love of sewing and crafts, music, reading and gardening. At family gatherings with the grandchildren, she always had prepared crafts to entertain them.
Nadia was predeceased by her husband Murray in 2000, parents, Anne and John Bobiak; her brothers, Frank, Mac, Alexander, Tares, Julian, Steave and Ian; her sisters, Olga, Savella and Annie. Nadia is survived by daughters, Cynthia, Karen and Joanne; grandchildren, Cody (Justine), Dustin, Devon and Logan; great grandson, Oliver; brother Orist; and good friend and long-time partner, Ross Walker.
A private family celebration will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Nadia may be made to the Daly House Museum Victoria Garden, www.Dalyhousemuseum.ca.
