DELVINA A. HUBERT

(REMILLARD)

February 14, 1944 - April 13, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Delvina Hubert on Thursday, April 13, at Actionmarguerite in St. Boniface at the age of 79.
Delvina was predeceased by her husband Ronald (2021); father Albert Remillard (1971); mother Amanda Remillard (1994); brothers, Danny, Andy, Rollie, and Ray; sister Lena; sister-in-law Ann. She is survived by son Trevor; daughter Ronda; daughter-in-law Denise; grandson Nate; granddaughter Milleya; sisters, Denise and Bernice (Roy); sister-in-law Annette; brother-in-law Doug and many nieces and nephews.
Delvina was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was active in her children’s lives and showed them the joy of cooking, gardening, and an appreciation for nature. She spent many hours tending to her garden and flowers at her home in Winnipeg and at ‘the lake’ in St. Malo, Manitoba. Delvina was passionate about wildflowers and prairie habitats and supported the Manitoba Tall Grass Prairie Preserve and the Living Prairie Museum.
Delvina held several office administrator roles throughout her working years, most recently at St. Mary’s Academy. Delvina was an avid reader and enjoyed learning and completed several French language study courses at the University of Winnipeg.
She lived with her daughter Ronda and cherished their time together running errands like picking up fresh cinnamon buns at Tall Grass Bakery. One of her favourite trips was shopping at The Bay and lunch at A&W. On the weekends, Ronda and Delvina enjoyed many bonfire conversations with family and friends at ‘the lake’ in St. Malo.
One of Delvina’s favourite roles was grandmother to Nate and Milleya. Whether it was painting, lego-building, matching games, or exploring the neighbourhood with a plastic pail and shovel - Grandma could always be counted on as a willing participant.
Delvina’s family kindly requests that friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by visiting her tribute page at ejcoutu.ca.
Following their wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 6, at 11:00 a.m. at Coutu Funeral Home.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • We were fortunate to meet both Del and Ron when we moved to Winnipeg, six years ago. It was through their son Trevor and Denise that we were introduced, at a family gathering. Family was important to them. All their family are in our prayers, as they go through this difficult time. May God walk beside you and bring you peace. - Posted by: Barry & Sandra Evans (Friends ) on: Apr 23, 2023

  • Del, you were a wonderful Aunt and Friend. I recall coming to visit at St Malo and you were always ready to sit and chat for a bit, or Christmas dinners at your house where you hosted so many times with Uncle Ronny, they are and will always be wonderful memories, and even later in life when you fought Alzheimer's with strength and passion, we could always see you fighting to remember in your eyes and with dignity. You are back with Ron again, and you'll be missed. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Craig Sexton (husband of your niece Linda) on: Apr 22, 2023
