ARNOLD ELIA FREDERICK PIRAGOFF
It is with sadness that his family announce the passing of Arnold Elia Frederick Piragoff, QC, of Edmonton, Alberta, on Monday April 10, 2023, aged 83, following complications from pneumonia.
He was born in The Pas, Manitoba, son of Frederick Elia and Jean Mary (nee Galer) Piragoff, and educated at the Universities of Winnipeg and Manitoba (B.A., LL.B). Known as "The Silver Fox", Arnold will be remembered fondly by the many lives that he touched during his long and legendary career as a crusader for justice as a Crown Attorney and in private practice, in the legal systems of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
He is survived by his four children, Heath, Ian, Aryn, and Kara, his grandson Xavier, and his brothers, Ronald and Donald.
A private memorial will be held at a future date. In order to be notified of the time and place, persons wishing to attend are requested to send their contact details to: APRSVP@mail2arnold.com

I wish to offer my condolences on the loss of your father, Arnold Piragoff, If indeed he is the one I knew when we were both in university. We were both working at Palm Dairies. We dated for a short time. In those days we did just that, and then we went our separate ways. His parents had a store on the corner of Arlington and William. I had been there a few times and had met his parents. I have a brother living in Edmonton, and it was a long time ago that my mother, when visiting him and family, had sent me a clipping from the paper with a picture of the "Silver Fox", so I took for granted that Arnie was living and working in Edmonton. Somehow I had heard that he had married a girl who had been teaching at St. Mary's Academy, which I had previously attended. Again I am so sorry for your loss. May he rest in peace. - Posted by: Dorothy Warwaruk (Seredynski) (old friend) on: Apr 24, 2023

Condolences to Arnold’s family and friends, and Godspeed to that better place which awaits. Having been a lawyer in Edmonton for many years, I had the privilege of knowing “The Silver Fox”, a well known, highly respected, and formidable personage in the legal community. I continue to maintain contact with his family. And yes I’d like to be informed and attend the memorial to pay my respects. - Posted by: Ralph + Jenny Watzke (Legal Profession Colleague) on: Apr 22, 2023
