MAVIS ADA BLAIS

(nee Paton)

January 20, 1928 - April 16, 2023

Our Mom passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She is predeceased by her parents, William and Ada Paton, husband Rolly, brother Roy and sister-in-law Audrey. She will be lovingly remembered by sons David (Claudette), Donald, Mark (Judy), and Roland (Elaine); her grandchildren Michelle (Jay), Nicholas (Roxanne), Tristan, and Brett; and great-grandchildren Jérémie and Maxime. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends and neighbors.

Mavis was born in Winnipeg and raised in Weston where Roy and Mavis were known as Big Winch and Little Winch. Mavis and Rolly were married in 1954 and raised their family on Cabana Place where she was affectionately known as Mother Mavis. Throughout her life Mavis played many sports, including winning the championship with the Senior B St. Vital Tigerettes. Mom enjoyed supporting her children and grandchildren in their various sporting activities and was always up for a game of crib. Mavis was a longtime employee of the St. Boniface Hospital Dialysis Unit.

A private service will be held for immediate family.

We wish to thank the staff of Vista Park Lodge for the loving and supportive care given to Mother Mavis.
In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Vista Park Lodge or the Alzheimer Society in Mavis' memory.
