JAMES ERNEST SEWELL

A wonderful man went to heaven on Sunday, April 23, 2023, with his special friend, Madeline, by his side, at Riverview Health Centre. Jim fought long and hard with his journey with dementia which took over his life.

Jim came to Winnipeg from England in 1969 for a job opportunity at University of Manitoba. After retiring from the University of Manitoba, he opened a store called Lonnietique.

Jim was predeceased by his wife June in 2008; he is survived by many family members and dear friends.

Jim was a founding member of Archwood 55 Plus and very active running the club in its early days.

Jim met Madeline in 2011 and they enjoyed many wonderful travels together. Jim was loved by all who met him including Madeline’s dog, Oreo whom Jim took for daily walks to the corner whistling all the way there and back.

A special thanks to the wonderful staff at Riverview Health Centre for the care they provided to Jim.

In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or Winnipeg Humane Society.

Rest in peace, dear Jim. You will always be in my heart and your memory will be forever cherished. You were a caring and gentle soul.

- Thanks for being my friend!

A service will be held at Windsor Park United Church, 1062 Autumnwood Drive on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.
