KENNETH RUSSELL JOHNSTONE
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Kenneth Russell Johnstone at Belleville General Hospital on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 in his 87th year.
Ken was the beloved son of the late Duncan and Ethel Johnstone and brother of the late Ronald Johnstone. Predeceased by his loving wife Doreen Johnstone. Married 53 years they shared two children together, Blair (Jolanda) and Nancy. Ken will be missed by many brothers and sisters in-law as well as nieces and nephews across Canada. He will be dearly missed by many friends, including life long friends he grew up with in Winnipeg, MB.
Ken had a long career as a Meteorologist with Environment Canada and was able to work in many regions throughout Canada, finally retiring to Belleville. He enjoyed spending time outside gardening. He was also an avid curler and long-time member of the Quinte Curling Club in Belleville, ON.
Arrangements entrusted to RUSHNELL FUNERAL HOMES - BELLEVILLE (80 Highland Ave. 613-968-5588). Friends are invited to attend the Visitation that will be held on Tuesday May 2, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., the Memorial Service will immediately follow in the Chapel at 12:00 noon. There will be a reception after the service for some light refreshments in the reception centre, located at the Funeral Home. An internment at Belleville Cemetery will be held at a later date. If desired, donations to Belleville General Hospital would be greatly appreciated by the family.
