DIANE LITTLE
Peacefully on April 23 2023, at the Elisabeth Bruyère Hospital in Ottawa, our beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend to many passed away at the age of 73.
Left to cherish her memory is son Leif, daughter Bridget and her two grandchildren, Théo and Maxine. Diane leaves behind her sister Paulette LeBleu, nephews, Daniel and Michel (Diana); brother-in-law Gary (Susan), nephew Casey (Krista), niece Kristy (Matt); as well as her dear friend Bruce McKenzie. Diane was predeceased in 1993 by her husband Duve Little.
Diane was born and raised in St-Boniface, attending l'Académie St-Joseph, followed by post-secondary studies in both Social Work and Education. Early in her teaching career, Diane went to Pine Falls where she met a charming co-worker who later became her beloved husband Duve. Over the next 30 years, she worked in various schools in and around Winnipeg. Most notably, at Vincent Massey Collegiate as a guidance counsellor, a role she was very well suited for.
After retirement, Diane seized every opportunity to live her life to its fullest. She travelled extensively, bought a cottage at Lakeshore Heights, volunteered and spent much time cooking, entertaining and gardening. She was a social butterfly who loved meeting new people. She participated in many activities including dance, Spanish lessons and her much loved walking group.
After a lifetime of memories in Winnipeg, Diane bravely moved to Ottawa to be closer to her grandchildren and daughter. Her final two years were filled with joy, laughter and adventure as she relished her role as grandmother a.k.a. Mémé.
She will be remembered for her compassion, generosity, sense of humour and strength. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 8 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodière Blvd., Winnipeg.
In accordance with her wishes, memorial donations may be made to Bruyère Foundation – Palliative Care or to the Canadian Cancer Society

I help sell Diane’s house in Windsor Park. She was a true pleasure to work for. I was so happy she did as well as she did in selling it. She was always a joy to be around. Our heartfelt condolences. Adam Carriere - Posted by: Adam Carriere (Realtor) on: May 08, 2023

I met Diane at Shirley’s Dance Studio in 2010. She was the First Lady I danced with after my first lessons. She was very patient with me knowing my inexperience as a lead . A few weeks later we agreed to be dance partners . Having a dance partner makes all the difference in leaning new dances and moves. I will always be appreciative of her assistance. My deepest and sincere condolences to her family. She was a great lady!! - Posted by: Adelard Gendron (Friend) on: Apr 30, 2023

I met Diane through the dance world. In fact she was the First Lady I danced with after showing up at Shirley’s dance studio, following my first dance lessons. She was very patient with me knowing my lack of experience as a lead. After a while we agreed to take dance lessons together so I would have a dance partner. - Posted by: Adelard Gendron (Friend) on: Apr 30, 2023
