  • I'll always remember him joking around and one time I was fooling around in Science class making weird noises and he would say "Got a radio back there" best teacher ever!!! - Posted by: Emil (student at Cecil Rhodes) on: Jun 12, 2023

  • What a wonderful teacher and human! He was the Best! Always smiling, always uplifting, waiting patiently at the door for us all to come into his classroom❤️ From a Tec Voc Grad - Posted by: Olya Lisova (Student ) on: May 02, 2023

  • So sad to hear of Mr Smorang’s passing! I have very fond memories of him being my science teacher for grade 7-9! He was the first teacher you saw everyday as his room was right across from the front entrance! He loved his role as a traffic cop too 😆 always yelling “hey Price do you know where your going?” ❤️ Well years later I got a little payback when he became a patient of mine while working at Seven Oaks Emergency! Sometimes when he was waiting in the waiting room and needed to be reassessed I would talk louder than normal “hey Smorang get over here” 🥰🥰! We would have a good laugh! RIP Mr Smorang - your students loved you & thank you 🙏 - Posted by: Heather Booy (Student ) on: May 02, 2023

  • Mr Smorang was my teacher and my son's teacher and one of the kindest souls always remember everyone's name and asked how they were my deepest condolences to your whole family. He truly was a a kind gentle soul. - Posted by: Shelley Costa (Student) on: May 01, 2023

  • Sad to hear of Mr. Smorang's passing. I was a student of his at Cecil Rhodes (1978-81). He was one of my favorites. His character ties, funny jokes and how he always stopped my hiccups. Right outside his door was a water fountain and you would drink. Then out of nowhere he would slap your back. No more hiccups. I have very fond memories over the 3 years he was my teacher. My condolences to his family. - Posted by: Tina Scowen (Student) on: Apr 30, 2023
