MARTHA MARIA KRAMER

On May 2, 2023, Martha Maria Kramer (née Rath) was called to her heavenly home. She died peacefully at her residence at age 92 after a prolonged illness.

She was predeceased by her husband Guenter Kramer. She is survived by her sons, Matthias, Gerhard, and Andreas; daughter-in-law Tamara; grandchildren, Joshua, Benjamin, Kate, and Zoe.

Martha was born on July 16, 1930, to Adam and Friedericke Rath (née Landherr) in Egenhausen, Germany. She grew up and lived in Altensteig, Germany, where she worked for the family business Gebrüder Rath as Office Manager from 1949 to 1968. In 1968, she married Guenter Kramer and immigrated to Canada. She was a devoted wife and mother who raised three sons. Over the years, she kept close contact with her large family in Germany through regular visits to the Black Forest. She enjoyed summers at her cottage at Victoria Beach and travelling to visit her children and grandchildren. Guenter and Martha attended McDermot Avenue Baptist Church since the mid-1990s until illness prevented their regular presence.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 6 at 10:30 a.m. at McDermot Avenue Baptist Church, 821 McDermot Avenue, with interment at Brookside Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
