Gertie always made me feel a part of the family. Always busy. Always cooking. Always there to pick us up in the cool 'Valiant' on a cold winters night. She smiled big and laughed often. Both Gertie and Norman were such a big part of my teen years at 479 and the beach. I will cherish those memories and this precious family forever. Heather, Barry and family my deepest condolences and tender hugs. xoxo Kelly - Posted by: Kelly McCallion (Family friend) on: Aug 12, 2023

My condolences to the family. It has been a long time, but I have nothing but fond memories of Gertie making sure we were well fed back in the day rehearsing with Sandy at the house. Also, many laughs with Stormin' Norman. Peace and love to all the family members. - Posted by: Gary Taylor (Friend) on: May 09, 2023

Sandy and I were close friends. We walked to school every day. Gertie and “storming” Norman were the kindest most generous parents anyone could have. Gertie always had a smile on her face and I can still hear her laugh when I’d sneak cookies and food out of her kitchen. My sincere condolences to Heather, Barry and family. She will be missed. - Posted by: David Garber (Friend of Sandy ) on: May 07, 2023

I played in a few bands in a few cities with Gertie’s son Sandy, and we recorded a bunch of music together. The Chochinov’s have always been a loving and supportive family and Gertie kept it all together. Quite a special gal. My condolences and love to Barry, Heather and their families and to Lori & Joachim - Posted by: Leonard Shaw (Friend of the family ) on: May 06, 2023

Sandy's mom Gertie always treated us band members with gratitude because she knew how important we were to the music in her son's soul. I will always remember her for the compassion and kindness that made up the foundation of her life. Many people will miss you Gertie and we will hold you in our hearts forever. Love always Seymour. - Posted by: Seymour Koblin (Friend of family) on: May 06, 2023
