RICHARD WILFRED JOSEPH GAMACHE

October 21, 1962 - April 27, 2023

Rick passed away unexpectedly at the young age of 60.

He will be sadly missed by his father, Herve Gamache; his sister, Therese (Claude) Gagnon; his nephews and nieces and their families, Justin, and his daughter Taylor; Marc (Blair) and their children, Izabella and Lucas; Leanne (Roberto) and their children Aiden and Alana; Lynne (Sean).

He was predeceased by his mother Marie Gamache (nee: Desrochers) in 2020. As well as his grandparents, Wilfred and Georgina Gamache, and Henry and Regina Desrochers and Rene Desrochers.

Rick graduated from Nelson McIntyre Collegiate. He attended Red River College for Accounting and moved on to Sheet Metal work. He ended his working career as a postal carrier with Canada Post.

Rick loved all sports and played many throughout the years. Hockey, football with the St. Vital Mustangs, ran Manitoba Marathons, Karate Brown Belt, golf, he swam, went to the gym, walked, and cycled. When he wasn’t playing sports, he was watching sports. He was a Jets and Bombers Fan. Jets night meant a ride down the elevator to Dad’s to watch the game. Rick also had a love for animals. Chico was his running partner for many years. To Bill W. and friends, he was known as the Crossword King and the Juicy Fruit Salesman.

The family would like to thank family and friends for their support through this time.

Viewing will be held on Monday, May 15, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. followed by the funeral service, at 10:00 a.m., in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street with Father Armand Le Gal, OMI officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in Lorette, MB.
