ANNE WOYTOWICH
Peacefully in the early hours of May 1, 2023, Anne passed, with family by her side, in her suite at St. Joseph's Residence. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Paul, in 2020.
Anne and Paul raised their two daughters, Sandy and Donna on a quiet street in West Kildonan. They were blessed with wonderful neighbours, many of whom became lifelong friends. Outside of raising her family, Anne also worked for over 25 years for the City of Winnipeg forming many friendships along the way.
Mom was a wonderful cook and baker, and cherished Sunday family dinners and holiday gatherings. Both Mom and Dad looked forward to spending summers at the cottage at Hillside Beach, where they made many memories with friends and neighbours. Mom was always able to persuade Dad to make a pitstop on the way to the lake to try their luck at the casino. Sometimes winning, sometimes losing, but always having fun.
No matter where Mom went she loved to stop and chat with people, always quick with a friendly hello and a smile to any passerby. Mom was a kind soul with a heart always willing to give.
Mom will be dearly missed by her daughters, Sandy and Donna, and son-in-law Gary Scrimshaw. She also leaves her brother-in-law Bill Woytowich, sister-in-law Mary Woytowich, several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Anne was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law John and Mary Paraluch, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Anne and John Raichuk, sister-in-law Isobel Woytowich, brother-in-law Alec Woytowich, and son-in-law Jim Barrett.
The family wishes to thank the kind staff at St. Joseph's Residence (Unit 2) for their compassion in caring for Mom these past two years.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Anne's memory, to Friends of St. Joseph's Residence Foundation Inc., 1149 Leila Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2P 2A2
A private family graveside service is planned.
