FLORENCE ESTHER KEMKARAN

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and friend, Florence Esther Kemkaran, on August 6, 2022, at the age of 87 years.

Nana Flo was a free spirit and lived life to the fullest. She taught us all to take chances in life and to never be complacent in comfort zones. Our mother has now gone to join her husband, Sam, who predeceased her in 2010. While we know that our mother was our father's biggest challenge, our father has met his biggest challenge once more, this time in Heaven. Florence lived for her children, Heather (Ross) and Kenny (Tess), and grandchildren, Sarah (Evan), Laura (Domenic), Joshua and Hunter.

Upon becoming aware of her fate, Florence expressed that her biggest fear was missing her family. Florence's son-in-law Ross always prepared delicious meals for her when she was unable, and she used to delight in guessing what he was going to prepare for her next. On our mother's last birthday, she had the joy of welcoming a new daughter-in-law, Tess, who always made sure that our mother was comfortable and showered her with love. Over the years, and particularly in the year prior to her passing, our mother's good friend Marilyn cared for her with love and endless humour. Marilyn and our mother had a special connection, and our family is forever grateful for that. Our mother instructed us not to prepare a lengthy obituary and we have respected her wishes. Those who knew our mother are well aware that her zest for life cannot sufficiently be captured in one paragraph.

In accordance with our mother's wishes, an intimate Celebration of Life was held on February 9, 2023, for immediate family. Mom, Nana, you have enriched our lives endlessly and taught us the meaning of family. We are forever grateful for you and your love - none of us would be who we are without you. We love you.
