EMILE JOSEPH LALIBERTE

April 3, 1933 - May 6, 2023

Emile Laliberte passed away peacefully on May 6, 2023, at the Grace Hospital after a short illness.
Emile was the consummate gentleman who was loved by all. Emile was born in Winnipeg, was educated at St. Paul’s College and was an extremely talented artist. He was employed with Harlequin drawing covers for romance novels. While working at Harlequin Emile met fellow artist - his “Dear Beth” who predeceased him in 2010.
Emile was a true lover of the game of golf. He was a Life Member at Transcona Golf Club. His favourite pastime was after a grueling 18 holes to sit with all his buddies and enjoy an ice cold Kokanee. His buddies would tease him relentlessly about his idol Tiger Woods and he certainly enjoyed the banter. All of his buddies at Transcona will certainly miss him. A print of one of Emile’s works of art, with the original displayed in our Clubroom, is displayed in the St. Andrews members clubrooms in Scotland of which Emile was extremely proud
I wish to personally thank sisters, Jocelyn and Karen at the Thorvaldson Care Centre for the care and friendship you showed towards Emile as he certainly enjoyed your facility as his “home”.
There will be no formal service as per Emile’s request but a Celebration of Life will be held May 28, 2023, at Transcona Golf Club at 5:00 p.m.
