ELIZABETH DALE HUNT

(nee ROBERTSON)

On May 19, 2023, Dale Hunt passed peacefully at home at the age of 74, surrounded by family and on her own terms.
Dale is survived by her loving husband Brian, children, Julie (Larry Millar), and Joel (Tamar), and beloved grandchildren, Ava, Ramsey, Finn, and Kenley. Also left to mourn are sisters, Penny Flock and Jayne (Reg Sims), and brothers, Ted (Pat) and Allan, as well as many nieces and nephews, extended family and countless friends.
Dale was born in Winnipeg on October 3, 1948. The second of five children, she loved growing up with her siblings.
Dale started dating Brian when they both attended Silver Heights Collegiate. They were married on September 6, 1969. Dale and Brian welcomed Julie Elizabeth in 1974 and completed their family in 1976 when Joel Merritt arrived.
As per Dale’s wishes there will be no formal service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dale’s name to the Assiniboine Park Zoo Animal Care Fund.

I grew up with Dale and went to school with her as we lived very close to each other. We were the baby boomers and there were a lot of us who gathered together in the evenings, after school or on weekends to play baseball in empty lots or on the streets, to go skating on the large rink made each year by the dads on Whtewold Road, or at Silver Heights Community Club, to ride our bikes anywhere and everywhere, and Dale was part of this large group of friends. She was a very dear and lovely person and was well liked by everyone. In 1978 a few of us met in my mother’s back yard to visit and reminisce. We had a lot of good memories to share. I no longer live in Winnipeg but still have fond memories of the friends I grew up with, and Dale was certainly one of those people.
