GEORGE (WALTER) GUMANY
We are heartbroken at the loss of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle. Born in Melville, SK to Peter and Clara Gumany, George is survived by one sister, Marian. He moved to Winnipeg and worked at Westeel for 35 years, then 10 years at Manitoba Sugar.
George was a kind, compassionate, loving man. Loyal and honest with a great sense of humour, he helped those down on their luck with a bed and food. George had an amazing singing voice and loved listening to music. A master cribbage player, he played to the end. A great cook, his specialty was pies and he was often told he could open a bakery.
George's pride and joy was his cottage at Brereton Lake, where he enjoyed fishing, swimming and bbqs every weekend and holidays. George led a simple, grateful life and had a heart of gold.
He married Barbara Radley and had four children: Donna, Glenn (deceased) (Shelly), Sandra, Jennifer. He loved his grandchildren, Brendan, Isabella, Shane, Sheena, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Our daily conversations are treasured and deeply missed.
Thank you to the staff at Park Manor, especially Julie Perry, Barb Soder, Barb (Rec) and Jovie. Thanks to Dr. Rabson for his patience and kindness with questions.
Don’t mourn for me as I am always with you. Lift a glass, tell a story, and smile.
