ANITA MARIE RIFFEL
Anita and her smile left us not long ago. We wish it had not been so soon.
Anita was the daughter of Frank Dobson and Blanche Neefs and the sister of Dennis, all of whom have predeceased her. She is survived by her husband Anthony, as well as their children and their families: Iain (Penny), Anton Kingdon (Rebecca), Bailey, Cassidy and Dominic; Daniel (Mandi), Owen and Mikayla; and Katrina Peacock (Lindsay), Noah and Tripp.
Anita was a pianist, a mathematics teacher, a business woman, a salesperson and a person who formed close friendships with people, at work, church or play; above all, she was "mom", "gramsy", and a wonderful partner in life. She liked to laugh, whether when fishing, dancing, or playing cards and board games with the kids. She enjoyed the company of dogs, a scotch and a cigarette before supper, dressing up, dinner and weekend trips with the ladies, swimming, golf and travel. Waskesiu, Lake of the Woods and the Elkhorn Resort were her special places away from home. She also suffered from Parkinson's Disease.
Anita spent the last two and a half years at the Riverview Personal Care Home; we are grateful to the staff for the care they gave her. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial will be held during the Fall.
If donations in memoriam are part of your tradition, please consider Parkinson Canada.

Anita and I were colleagues at the Winnipeg Adult Education Centre for many years. I enjoyed her company and respected her commitment to teaching. She sometimes had the staff over to her home and I remember her as a great hostess. She was a lovely person. - Posted by: david turner (former colleague) on: Jun 03, 2023

I’m so sorry to hear about Anita’s passing. I was a former student of hers in the early 90’s at the Adult Ed Centre. She was beyond amazing as a math teacher!!! She took the time to demonstrate and explain various mathematical procedures and to just talk about day to day life. She was one of the stepping stones to my Education Degree. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. - Posted by: Debbie (Former Student) on: Jun 03, 2023
