MURIEL RUTH FAST
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Muriel at the age of 75 on May 22, 2023. Left to cherish Muriel’s memory is her beloved husband, Richard, of 51 years. She will also be lovingly remembered by her son Graham (Shawna) Fast. Also mourning Muriel’s passing are her brother, John (Debbie) McCreanor, and sister, Maureen (Ross) Gage. She was predeceased by her parents Dennis and Ruth McCreanor.
Muriel was born in Winnipeg on January 9, 1948. She attended Churchill High School and was employed at Air Canada for 19 years. Muriel and Richard married on August 28, 1971. She left her position at Air Canada in 1986 to become a stay-at-home mom. During this time, she also volunteered at the Bird’s Hill Elementary School lunch program.
Muriel enjoyed family gatherings and summers at the cabin. She took art lessons for several years and there are numerous cherished paintings hanging in their home. Other activities which she enjoyed were 5-pin bowling, lawn bowling, watching movies at the theatre and playing cards with friends. Muriel especially enjoyed being a Sister in Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and looked forward to their various gatherings and outings.
A private celebration of Muriel’s life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to a charity of your choice.
