JANIE MAY HODGSON

January 2, 1948 – May 6, 2023

With immense sorrow and sadness, we announce the sudden passing of our devoted and loving mother Janie May Hodgson on May 6, 2023. She left late that night after the strongest fight with her family by her side. At 75 years old Janie touched so many hearts and for most of us could be described as ‘our ROCK’.



She will be missed by her beloved husband Floyd, daughters Tammy, Carman (Jeremy), and late son Terry. She will especially be missed by her grandchildren Jaylen, Madison (Joshua) - the parents of Janie's only great-grandson, Orion - Kylie, Kaiden and Brennen.



Janie was born to Dorothy Jean McNeil on January 2, 1948, in Winnipeg Manitoba. She was the youngest of four siblings Blanche (Owen), Margaret (Bill), Kay (Barry) and brother John. She later became an aunt to many nieces and nephews. She worked in the floral industry for many years as an incredibly talented floral designer, she took pride in her work and stunned many people with her talent the beauty of her designs.

Janie retired and became a devoted wife and homemaker. She loved to celebrate holidays and cook dinner for her family friends. Most of all she loved to garden and care for her houseplants, her ability to raise and nurture plants was second to none– a real life plant whisperer.

A final goodbye is planned for June 10, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., Janie will be laid to rest at Glen Eden Funeral Home located at 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB.
