MARGARET ANN SUCHAROV

(KOLODY)

It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the peaceful passing of Margaret Ann Sucharov, 68 of Winnipeg, MB on May 26, 2023 following a courageous battle with Cancer.

Margaret was born on September 5, 1954, to Robert and Iris Kolody in Beausejour MB. She attended Berryland for elementary and after graduating from Lac Du Bonnet Senior High, she went on to study at Red River College. After spending years working on her family’s farm, Margaret found employment at the Northern Store of The Bay. She opened up a Quickie franchise of wheelchair and mobility accessories and later went on to hold sales and administrative roles at various companies.

On June 7, 1991, she married the love of her life, Gershon Sucharov. They shared a beautiful marriage of 28 years enriched with the love of family.

She devoted herself to Rose, her mother-in-law, stepdaughters, Brenlee and Betty, son-in-law Al and her prides and joys, granddaughters, Amber, Simone, Macey and Miley, being their biggest supporter and cheerleader Her heart also reached out to her iguana babies, Spot and Dot.

Margaret valued the closeness with brother and sister-in-law Max, Becky and their family, her machatunim and cousins.

Margaret’s love and dedication extended to her boundless friends, who respected and loved her in return. This accounted for the vast number of visitors in the last months of her life.

Margaret was passionate about nature (plants), reptiles and her most favourite frogs. She was enthralled by music and cherished her moments of practising and performing in the Margaret’s Choir. Saturday early evenings were set aside for Bingo.

Margaret took great pride in her countless years of sobriety in A.A. and deeply valued the lifelong friendships she made there and the numerous lives she impacted and saved, in addition to the work she committed to do for her group.

Margaret’s STRENGTH, COURAGE and DETERMINATION are an inspiration to all!

Margaret was predeceased by Gershon, Betty, Iris and Robert. She is survived by Brenlee (Al) Amber, Simone, Macey and Miley and sister Lil.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Temple Shalom, 1077 Grant Ave. Donations can be made to CancerCare.

A special thanks to Margaret’s best friend Deb for her devotion and close friend Les for his care.

  • A few years ago I was invited to be part of a ladies lunch group. It was there that I met this wonderful lady, Margaret Sucharov. She was always so warm and easy to talk with, and when I found out she liked to sing, I invited her to join Margaret's Choir. I am very happy she did. You will be so missed Margaret, and I am blessed to have had you in my life. I will forever remember you asking me if I knew of a cleaner "who could see dirt". The Choir sent out this lovely message to all current members: Margaret Sucharov, a long-time member of the Tenor section of our choir, passed on May 26th. Her Celebration of Life will be on June 24th from 2-4 at Temple Shalom, 1077 Grant Avenue. An obituary regarding Margaret is to be found in the Winnipeg Free Press. SUCHAROV MARGARET - Obituaries - Winnipeg Free Press Passages Margaret was passionately committed to our choir, as evidenced by her participation in rehearsals even during the most severe and final stages of her illness, and by her diligent attention to administrative reports during our annual assembly (we would prepare for Margaret’s questions 😊). I will long remember the inspiring scene of her family posing for a picture with her, on stage at her final concert in December 2022." Grateful for the memories. ♥ ~Dianne Renick - Posted by: Dianne Renick (Friend) on: Jun 22, 2023

  • The Choir will miss a great tenor, but Heaven will open the door to the voice of a brilliant Star. Over The Rainbow, her voice resonates with a memory. - Posted by: Lily Sotomayor (Choriste) on: Jun 13, 2023

  • I am saddened by the loss of a choir member I sang with for one season as I joined the choir in September, 2022 after moving back to Winnipeg from Toronto in July, 2022. We will miss her greatly as a tenor in the choir. May she rest in peace. May joyous memories of wonderful times with her be with her family and friends to ease the loss you all experience. - Posted by: Dianne E Hiebert (Margaret's choir member for 1 season) on: Jun 12, 2023
