Offer Condolences or MemoryJUDITH CAROLYN GRACE MALTMAN
Judy went home to Jesus, after a courageous three-year battle for life.
She will be deeply missed by her husband Larry, daughter Tara Maltman-Just (Harold), beloved grand-dogs Calla and Lilly, rescue bird Silver, brother Barry Rempel (Deb), family and friends.
Born in Winnipeg in 1948 to William and Rose Rempel, she grew up in Kleefeld in a caring home, cultivating her love for others, nature, fashion and her foundation of faith. She was an exceptionally bright student and graduated from the University of Manitoba. In 1969, Judith began her career as a Teacher with the Seven Oaks School Division, retiring in 2008 after 39 years of stalwart service.
Married to Larry on July 4, 1970, she treasured many adventures over their last 53 years, travelling all across North America, and particularly loved Victoria and Hawaii.
Blessed with the birth of their only child Tara in 1983, Judith gained more than a daughter, sharing an inseparable bond that will endure into eternity.
Always vibrant and active, she was in her element gardening, shopping, accessorizing, decorating seasonally and hosting elaborate holiday dinners focused on making each guest feel welcome, just as she did as a greeter at church. A joyful presence, she loved singing, musicals and the symphony with her friends.
The consummate selfless servant, Judith devoted her life to others. Whether caring for her mother into her 90s, or lending a listening ear and encouraging word, she showed her faith by her works.
Judith relished her garden, demonstrating the patience she had to invest time and energy in sowing seeds and watching them grow. She valued nature, her backyard birds and bunnies, and all of God’s creatures, even perfecting recipes such as the recent natural fat-free dog cookies for Calla and Lilly.
Despite any challenge, Judith’s resilience was stellar; a model of Grace. She didn’t complain but fixed her eyes on our Blessed Hope. Humble, grateful and kind, her silent strength shone through every battle, all the way into God’s arms.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 11:00 am at Springs, 725 Lagimodiere Blvd.

Larry and Tara....I was so VERY sorry to hear of Judy's passing. I do have such fond memories of times together in Kleefeld when both our families lived there. I was thrilled when Judy asked me to be a bridesmaid at your beautiful wedding!! Shortly after Russ and I got married...we moved to BC and regrettably lost touch. I did however have a lovely reconnection with Judy about a year ago via email. She was feeling quite well at that time and was so hoping for good times ahead. It was clear that she was SO!!! proud of you Tara! I know you all have wonderful memories that you will always treasure. With love and hugs..... - Posted by: Judith Maltman (Cousin) on: Jun 13, 2023
