Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I had the pleasure of being introduced to Bob in the early days of my banking career with CIBC at the Norwood location. He was a mentor and a friend and will be missed dearly. My condolences to his surviving wife, Anna and the Allan family, may the memory of Bob assist in carrying you during these difficult times Rest in peace Bob. - Posted by: terry kirkham (friend and co-worker) on: Jun 27, 2023

  • In the early nineties we we’re sinking under the pressures of the growing Ag business at Stonewall. Bob came to our rescue after being retired, and boy did he help. The bank’s credit dept. who adjudicated our applications loved Bob’s submissions. Bob was a fun guy, but did not suffer fools lightly. When a new head office régime decided to cancel a Manitoba region tradition of funding an annual pensioner dinner, he took action. A letter directed to the President of the bank resulted in the bank deciding to assist all regions of the bank in funding, not only the annual dinner, but many other pensioners activities. Thanks Bob. - Posted by: Larry Hewlko (Friend) on: Jun 26, 2023

  • Anne our sincere sympathies on Bob's passing. He was a hard worker - determined and did things his way- If memory serves me correct he started in the Bank when I was Ass't Accountant at Main & Dufferin and that is where you guys met. He joined me on the long weekend in May/69 when we drove up the newly opened gravel road to Grand Rapids and we came back with our three day limit with pickerel fillets. Always appreciated our chats and time together. May God's comforting Spirit be your source of strength as you mourn his loss- we love you- Eleonore & Henry - Posted by: henry Esau (cibc colleague) on: Jun 20, 2023
