JOAN ELLEN HUTCHESON

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother on June 11, 2023.

Joan is survived by her four children, James (Cheryl), Ian (Marie), Lisa (David), and Barbara (Jeff); grandchildren, Jarrett (Kelsey), Melissa (Riley), Breann (Brayden), and Lauren; great-grandchildren, Brooks and Mila; brother-in-law Dr. Ian Morrow; nephews, and their families. Joan is predeceased by her husband Gordon of 67 years, and sister Doreen Morrow.

Joan spent her childhood and most of her adult life in St. James. Joan was a member of the Deer Lodge United Church and sang in the choir for 50 years. Joan worked hard most of her life but also volunteered in many organizations and was always very generous with her time.

Family always came first and was most important, but so were her friendships that she cherished over the span of her life. The family cottage in Whytewold was a treasure trove of memories surrounded with love and laughter. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.

A Celebration of Life for Joan and Gordon will take place at 2:00 p.m., June 29, 2023 at 603 Wellington Crescent (Unitarian Church) at Academy. In the meantime, Joan’s family kindly requests that you visit her tribute page at EthicalDeathCare.com. A photo-biography as well as memories and stories published by those who knew her are available there.

If you wish to donate the family has chosen The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
