We are sad to announce the passing of Colleen Gibson at the St Boniface hospital on June 2, 2023. Born

June 21, 1958, Colleen is survived by her brother Wade Gibson (Wendy), nieces Amanda and Francesca Gibson, brother Keith Gibson (Carol), nephews Kyle and Kolby Gibson and great-grandniece and nephew, Octavia and Kameron. Pre-deceased by her loving mother Elaine Gibson and brother Terrence Gibson.

Colleen was a miracle baby born at 1lb 10oz and was not expected to live the full life that she had. She made many friends and had a loving heart for those close to her.

Our thanks to the nursing staff at St Boniface palliative care unit for the final weeks of her life. A special thank you to Donna from Life’s Journey for her support and especially to Isata who cared for Colleen and showed her so much love.

A Celebration of Life and a private graveside ceremony by invitation only will be held at a later date.

  • I’ve known Colleen for about 30 years and it’s just the last four that I lost contact with her. Between Covid and a change in her placement I tried to get in touch with her but to no avail. She loved our shopping trips to Polo Park, eating Chinese food, getting a new ring or purse and just talking about life in general.   • I am very sorry to read about this. While I haven’t seen or talked to Colleen in many years, we used to talk in the phone quite regularly in my early adulthood days.
