Peacefully, with family by her side, Mary Maza (nee Chatyrbok) passed away on June 19, 2023 at the age of 90.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Maza in 2008. Born and raised in Inwood MB, Mary moved to Winnipeg where she met and married John and they enjoyed a happy marriage for more than fifty years.
Mary enjoyed being active. She loved gardening, workouts at the Wellness Institute and golfing with John and the many friends she met at Pine Ridge.
Church and Family were her passions. As an active member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, the Women’s League, Perogy Crew and Choir, Mary looked forward to helping out at the many events and Fall Suppers throughout the years.
Her greatest passion was spending time with her family. She loved getting together to cook and bake for all the holiday, anniversary and birthday celebrations. Having a house full of family, in a kitchen with standing room only, brought her so much joy.
Mary will be greatly missed by her daughter Barbara (James) Marshall, her son Perry (Patti) Maza; grandchildren Kimberley, Marianne, Lisa, Jamie, Leo; great grandchildren Liam, Keesis, Ava; brother Mike (Angela) Chatyrbok and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary had a life well lived and never mentioned having any regrets. Her belief in God was strong and a comfort when the time came to be reunited with John and loved ones gone before her.
Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, June 26 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Avenue. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4477 Main St, West Saint Paul.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.

Safe passage, Mary as you make your way to be with your divine creator and reunite with John and the many friends and family who wait to welcome you Home. I have so many fond memories of time spent with you and the family, but the sound of your laugh and the twinkle in your eye will stay with me always.
