MARILYN E. TOEWS

Marilyn passed away on June 22, 2023, surrounded by her family at Grace Hospital after a long battle with COPD.

Born on March 30, 1941, to Jack and Anna Flatt, she resided in Waldersee and married Gerald Rattai in 1961. They built a house in Dugald, a cabin at Leisure Falls, and finally their home on Forbes Road in St. Germain. She taught organ first at Miller's School of Music, and later at Tauber's. She could rarely be seen riding a dirt bike. After Gerald's passing in 2006, she remarried in 2012 to Lawrence Toews.

She is survived by husband Lawrence and her children Jodi Rattai, James and his wife Angela, her sister Gladys Fraser, grandkids Cheyauna, Brady, Cierra, Logan, Mia, Melissa, Conner, and Cymphany, stepchildren Brad and Rena and their children Izzy, Eddy and Matty, Stephen, Carolyn and Cory and their children, Ashley, Amy and Ethan. Her brother Eldon Flatt precedes her.
Her love of sugar in her coffee, stubbornness, luck, and music will remind all of her wonderful personality.
A Celebration of Life is to be held at Faith Lutheran Church on Friday, July 14 at 11:00 a.m.
