HARRY OPHOF
Harry passed away suddenly on July 4, 2023.
He was predeceased by his father (Siepko), mother (Hella), sister (Sandy), and many of his lifelong close friends.
Left to mourn his passing is the love of his life, his constant companion and best friend Louise, with whom many memories and good times were shared. Harry also leaves his children who were his pride and joy, son Travis (Savannah), daughter Tracy (Brad) and son J.R. (Harry) and his grandchildren: Kaiden, Kannen, Makenna, and Tanner, whom he deeply cherished and was extremely proud of them.
The last few years due to Covid and distance, time together had unfortunately been limited and are very sorry more time together was not possible.
Harry worked very hard and was proud of his time as a construction manager and later operated his own company which allowed him to travel across Canada, USA, and Europe to work on many large projects. He was always a hard worker well into his 70s.
In reference to his favorite singer, Elvis - Harry has 'left' the building but will never be forgotten. Thank you for the love and memories.
Cremation has taken place.
As per his wishes there will be no funeral service. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
Glen Eden Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

I was lucky enough to get to know Harry through my sister Louise who shared a life with him for the last 25 plus years. He was such a great guy and I’m so glad for the times I spent with him, especially hanging out on the deck talking and having a few laughs. He was always fun and tough and so very kind-hearted. Our hearts go out to Louise and Harry’s children and grandchildren at such a sad time. He will really be missed. - Posted by: Marie Leavitt and family (Louise’s sister) on: Jul 11, 2023

I am sorry to hear of the passing of my great friend Harry, we met when he was working at Oxford House and immediately became friends. I would be typing for hours if I had to describe the great times we had together and some of the trouble the 2 of us found ourselves in. Needless to say we always had a bunch of laughs and an occasional adult beverage. Sorry Louise for your loss I know Harry had lots of praise and love for you. Travis, Tracy and J.R. Your father was a great man and friend, always generous and willing to give a helping hand. He spoke of you all every time we met or on the phone. He was very proud of all three of you and would always talk with that twinkle he had in his eyes of all your achievements. He was also proud of his grandkids and said he loved visiting when he could. I will be raising my glass more than once to toast my cherished friend! John Larsen - Posted by: JOHN LARSEN (Friend) on: Jul 09, 2023

I met Harry and John (later to be my husband) in 1964 at a U of M dance. Harry was best man at our wedding 2 years later. We all shared many great times together over the last 59 years. I will miss you greatly and my memories of you will stay with me forever. MY condolences to Louise and and Harry's children and grandchildren. - Posted by: Georgette Price (Friend ) on: Jul 08, 2023
