Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRICHARD (RICK) SCIBERRAS
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved husband/stepdad/grandpa. Rick passed peacefully on the morning of July 12, with his wife by his side.
Remaining to cherish his memory is his wife and partner Cheryl; his stepdaughters: Diana (Scott) and granddaughters, Neely and Kylee; Sandra and grandsons, Parker and Duncan; Karen (Rob) and newest granddaughter Heidi; Laurie (Arran) and grandson Jordan, and Lisa (Shane) and grandchildren, Tyson, Emerson, and Nixon. Also remaining to remember Rick is his mother Janet Sciberras and his two brothers, Bob (Val) and Greg (Deb).
Rick spent his adult life in the automotive industry, both for work and for fun. In his career, he was everyone’s favourite service writer. He always greeted everyone with a smile, and his customers loved him. In his free time, he loved working on old cars. You could always tell if it was one his cars by the signature flat black paint job. In addition to tinkering in his garage, Rick also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandkids.
Rick had been looking forward to his retirement, but it was unfortunately short lived, as on May 27 he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Although his battle was quick, he surrounded himself with his family to enjoy the things he loved most. One of those requests was to marry his partner of 26 years, Cheryl. On June 1 they tied the knot. In his remaining weeks Rick mustered up the strength to go fishing with his grandkids, ride his Samurai around the farm, play in his garage and attend his oldest granddaughter’s graduation.
We have experienced a great loss in our family. We lost a husband, a father, a grandpa and a friend. Rick, you were taken too soon but are now at peace. See you on the other side!
Our family would like to thank the wonderful staff at St. Boniface and CancerCare for all of their help this past month.

My heartfelt condolences go out to you Cheryl and your family on Rick’s passing. I knew Rick the entire time he was at Super Tune and Brake. Each time I saw him he brought a smile to my face. He always - always had a smile on his face and an amazing disposition. They say the good Lord only takes the best into his care and keeping so rest assured Rick will be sitting at his right hand. I am so terribly saddened by your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you “attempt” to move forward. Coralie Bornais - Posted by: Coralie Bornais (Friend) on: Jul 29, 2023

I'm so sorry to hear this very sad news. I lived next door to Rick for 10 years on Lindsay Street. I was 7, my brother Brent 8 and Rick was 8 as well. I have so many fond and funny memories of my time spent with Ricky that's what we used to call him. My family moved to Calgary in 1975, I was 17 and one of the hardest good-byes was to Rick. After many years I reached out to Rick on Facebook and was once again in touch. Ricky as I knew him was a pile of fun. As kids in the 70's we grew up in the best of times, there were no cell phones or tablets back then we made our own fun and we did have fun. My sincere condolences to all of Rick's family ❤️ RIP Ricky - Posted by: Tracey McDonald (Friend ) on: Jul 18, 2023

It was a great pleasure to work with him. He was by far the best service manager to happen to SL auto. His love for his fords was unmatched. World is a lesser place with out him. Thank you for the friendship. - Posted by: Tyler Gildert (Friend and colleague ) on: Jul 15, 2023
