Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES (JIM) WINSTANLEY
It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved brother James [Jim] Winstanley. Jim passed away on July 15, 2023, with his family by his side. After a short fight with cancer in hospital, Jim returned back to his roots at home with his sister and enjoyed his last days watching football and playing with the dogs.
Born in 1956, Jim was very close to his family and spent his life working as such. His younger years at Stage West Dinner Theatre, where most of the immediate family worked and many people became family and are friends still to this day. Afterwards, Jim worked with his sister Margaret in contracting where they started Winjam and his demolition business. When James Sr. died, Jim stepped up and managed the family business caring for the apartments.
Jim will always be remembered for his love of dogs, football and of course Turtles. He was always willing to lend a hand and be there for anyone who needed him.
He leaves to cherish his memory sisters, Adelaide and Margaret [Mike] Gobert; nieces and nephews, Colin and Michael Murkin and Nicole Gobert. Predeceased by his parents, James Sr. and Mary Winstanley, and sister Elizabeth. Jim will be sadly missed by his family and friends and will remain with us in our memory and our hearts.
At his request cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, July 28, 2023, from 2:30 p.m. onward at 492 Montague Ave.
For those who wish to do so, donations in Jim’s honour can be made to K9 Advocacy Manitoba.
